cake care instructions

Please remember that your cake is made of delicate, perishable, and fragile materials and ingredients. While our products are made with the utmost care to ensure structural stability, Layers of Love will not be held accountable for anything that may happen to your product post pickup/delivery.

For best enjoyment, your products should be handled according to these specific instructions:

TRANSPORTATION

• Place your items on the FLOOR of your vehicle, never on the seat or in someone's lap.

• Secure items around the base of the box (jacket, bag) to keep boxes from sliding around.

• Make sure there is nothing on the seat above that may fly off of the seat and onto the box.

• Drive slowly and carefully, and avoid sudden stops and sharp turns.

• Keep the cabin cool.

CUTTING & SERVING

• for optimal flavor and texture, enjoy cake best at room temperature (allow ~2 hours out of fridge)

• cut cake with a clean, sharp knife; wipe the blade clean after each cut

• to get the most servings, cut your cake according to this guide:

DISPLAY & STORAGE

• If it is very hot (above 80F or so), we recommend bringing your cake out of the fridge just in time for a photo op / cutting ceremony. Display the cake outside in hot temperatures at your own risk.

• DO NOT display your product in direct sunlight under ANY circumstances. The buttercream will almost certainly melt within 15-20 minutes, even if the surrounding temperature feels cool.

• Store cake/cupcakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

• Most products will stay good in the fridge for 4-7 days, although different items will have different shelf lives, depending on perishability.
