Greetings from Alex (they/them) and Sorrel (they/she)! We are the owners and creators of Layers of Love, a micro-bakery located in Boone, NC. We specialize in making custom cakes for every occasion that are intricately decorated, colorful, and - most importantly - delicious. We also bring smaller goods to the local farmers markets, where we enjoy connecting with the high country community.

We are both lifelong artists, by nature and by practice. When our individual vocational journeys led us to working together as bakers at Stick Boy Bread Co., our shared love for the art of baking was discovered. We quickly became best friends - and you’ll never guess what happens when you put two artistic, entrepreneurial, queer, neurodivergent, silly best friends together! Through lots of brainstorming and long hours baking (and honestly, mostly guessing) our micro-bakery was born.

The support of our small business from the high country community allows us to live such authentic and fulfilling lives, and for that we are immensely grateful. We hope for nothing more than for our product to bring our community as much joy as creating it brings us.
